BA/MA thesis
Bachelor or Master thesis or 4+ months internship on computer vision for robotic grasping
Our lab builds and programs humanoid robots that are supposed to act and interact in human-centered real-world environments. We offer you to work on research projects in the context of robotic grasping, with a focus on visual perception. The task will be to develop and/or improve skills that a robot needs to successfully grasp known and unknown objects.
The project can be done in the form of an internship or, if your university cooperates, for a bachelor or master thesis. The exact topic will be discussed and defined once you have arrived here, and can (to some degree) be adapted to your preferences. It will mostly be a programming task, some mathematical/geometrical thinking will probably be necessary too.

I'm looking for a computer science/engineering/mathematics student who is capable of programming (C++ will be used) and not afraid to come up with good ideas for unsolved problems. Some knowledge of computer vision will definitely be helpful, and sympathy for robots is a plus ;-)
